The Presidents speech tonight must have given nightmares to the power that be. Not since FDR has a President stood up to the invisible hand that prevents progress. Some have called the package pork and other have said that it will put our children in debt. The President understood that failure to act would have cost the country more money then the total cost of the stimulus package. So what does this have to do with online marketing? The package will bring some great opportunities for online marketers to data mine and search out new clients in many fields. Many Americans will now have some extra spending power and the ability to buy small luxuries like a $5 cup of coffee. We should not forget that the real value of an economy is not in how much people can spend, but how much they can produce. The ability to create industrial capacity. For over 50 years this capacity has declined. We can only hope that in the coming years our industrial and agricultural capacity will increase. If so, we will have more opportunities to find business. Right now business is so tight and so cut throat that you almost have to become a marketing animal to survive.
